SINGERS WHO CARE
Musical memories rekindled
Singing in groups can enthuse and inspire, whatever an individual's background or ability. There are many benefits, both physical and mental, especially when singing in groups and, of course, for those listening.
We don’t just turn up, sing our songs and depart! Those listening are encouraged to take part, share memories, remember people and places they associate with the music. Some might sit quietly and listen with a smile on their face as they enjoy the music and reminisce but most singalong, laugh at the humour and fully engage with the activity. After a singalong session I’ve often been told by care staff about the really positive impacts singing has on residents; for example, someone who normally retreats to his room has stayed and joined in.

WORKPLACE SINGING - FEELING GOOD!
Music makes everything better! It can relieve pain, reduces stress, makes you work harder, and helps you relax. Music is one of life's most beautiful gifts.
To quote Jimi Hendrix: "Music doesn't lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music".
One of the best ways to capture the benefits of music is through singing where you can allow yourself to truly feel the song with your mind, body, and soul.
David Meek is experienced delivering work-based singing solutions, helping organisations to boost or maintain their employee’s morale. Either as part of a team-building day or a regular weekly activity where David comes into your workplace and infuses your staff with the feelgood factor that singing brings.
Singing not only helps to breakdown barriers, improve communication and build a sense of community, it has proven and recognised health benefits, e.g. lowers stress, eases tension, improves circulation and respiration, releasing into the body plenty of those good endorphins which elevate mood and make you feel a whole lot better. People who feel energised, happy and connected to each other are more productive at work.
